The Persistence of Memory- Salvador Dalí

The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dalí was painted in 1932 and is considered one of his most reknown pieces of art. The surrealist piece demonstrates a number of melting pocket watches in the Catalonia (Spain) landscape. The painting has been in the MoMA's collection since 1934.

The Starry Night- Vincent Van Gogh

I've decided to start out my blog with possibly my favorite painting of all time: The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh. The painting is supposed to detail the nighttime view outside of Van Gogh's asylum room window, but was painted from memory during the day. Today it is located in the MoMA in New York City, where it has been since 1941.
